Why is this called "Explanation of…"? It should be called "Why Republics are Better".

Differentiating between fascism and socialism has caused headaches for historians for decades. Try identifying characteristics that are true of Hitler, Mussolini and Franco that are not true of Lenin, Stalin and Mao. To complicate the matter, the two most famous fascists, Hitler and Mussolini, were also socialists. Fascism is best described as a particular style of socialism. It tends to focus on building a socialist society within a particular country rather than trying to unite workers across many countries. That is the primary difference between National Socialism and International Socialism. Both are contemptuous of religion, capitalism and the individual.

Sorry, this more confusion, intentional or not.
Who holds the power is the determining factor in describing governments.
Socialism is of, by and for, the People. The People hold the power. Not a Big Brother government riding herd over the People, who are just the milk cows to pay for it. Not too unlike Libertarianism in that respect, except the basis is social, not individual, to build and run a society. Not far from the Amish, when you think of it. Communism is the left wing of Socialism, where everyone is of the same value, perhaps a bit too idealistic. Communism as we’ve been told, is really State Capitalism, under an oligarchy.
Fascism is most assuradly Right Wing, about as far Right as you can get. As Mussolini, the father of Fascism, described it: Government and corporate cooperation and control.
What most describes the U.S.??
